3) Recordings of some PC DVB TV Cards supported

There exist DVB PC TV Cards which are able to record recordings using the TS format applying another software then the producer's and therefore work with our products. However, the DVB PC TV Card's accompanying producer software does NOT record recordings in the TS format, which is mandatory for the use of our products. You will need one of the listed software beneath for this purpose.
Software WinSTB at the requirement of TV Cards, such as WinSTB .
Software DVB Viewer at the requirement of German Manual, such as DVB Viewer.

All here listed DVB PC TV Cards are able to record recordings in the TS format using one of the mentioned softwares above and therefore work with DVR-Studio Pro and DVR-Studio. In general, all other TV Cards with a "B2C2" chipset should do as well:

Because we can not test all receiver models, but a lot of them us the same recording format, there is great chance that recordings from other, not listed devices may work perfectly well with our products, too. For instance, some of the listed receiver models were only found at a hint of clients and we have not checked them ourselves.

*1* If double reports should occur, the receipt of the email is deciding. In this case, you will get a copy of the first report's email to provide evidence. Varieties in terms only refering to the harddisk's size for instance, do not count as new dicoveries. Besides, we need a CD or DVD containing some short test recordings (about 5 minutes long, from different broadcasting stations and with vaious resolutions and audio tracks) as well as the exact specification of the receiver model.

*2* The type of the interface has been taken over from the producer's declaration. Generally, all devices containing an USB 2 interface dispose of an onboard controller which enables transmission rates of 3 to 5 MB/sec. We did choose the term "true USB 2" if a true USB 2 controller with a transmission rate of about 25 MB/sec. is involved. which. A regular movie of 3.5 GB will be transferred to the PC in about 6 minutes of time.

*3* Works only with the firmware version 10008 or higher in association with the Humax Media Linker. The recordings have to be transferred to the local PC's harddisk by the Media Linker first. Because of the file format is the direct transfer with DVR-Studio Pro or DVR-Studio NOT possible.

*4* The KAON KSC-670HCO with USB 2 interface is only available in Australia and in Norway. Devices without such a port are not suitable.

*5* Finepass receivers contain additional data in the stream, which makes it impossible to edit source HAV files directly. That is why the functions [Copy edited recording] and [Remove cuts] are inactive. But it is still possible to define cut areas and remove them before creating a DVD. The transferprogram for reading the Finepass hard disk, you will finde here .

*6* The file extension .mpeg has been chosen by the producers and is not a true MPEG2 but only a transport stream. Such files can NOT be played by software players; they need conversion by our software first.

*7* TS Format is supported from the original software.

*8* These receivers can not store recordings larger than 4 GByte on external storage media. This is a limitation of the Windows FAT32 file system being used on USB storage media.

*9* Radio recordings with the file extension .rts can only be processed from firmware version 1.01 on.

*10* The receiver records the transport stream only, if the option "record all audio tracks" is set at the harddisk's menu.

*11* To access the receiver disk use the Digenius transfer module. The USB port of the receiver has to be switched to PC access manually with the receiver remote control (consult the manual). If the receiver does not have an USB port, you have to mount the disk into the PC directly or put it into a USB case.

*12* When merging segmented files, there can be distortions or out of sync audio with this receiver. This is because of a disturbing header at the beginning of the second file.

*13* This receiver does not have an interface. But when mounting the receiver's harddisk into a PC, the disk content will be accessible with the product PC2Box.exe from Lasat.

*14* Clone of a Topfield Reveicer. You can use the Topfield program Altair or our transfermodules für Topfield Receivers.

*15* For this device our products can only support recordings in DVB-SD (MPEG2). DVB HD (HDTV in MPEG4 H264) is not supported yet. We plan to support H264 later in 2008 with a new product.

4) About unknown or new satellite receivers

We often receive requests regarding unknown or new satellite receiver models. Unfortunately, we can not afford checking every device on software compatibility to DVR-Products on our own.

As most of the receivers record data received from satellite just 1:1, it is most likely to assume that there exists a whole series of models which would work perfectly well with our software.

If your receiver model should not be listed as supported, you can check it on software compatibility to DVR-Products as follows:

Having been able to transfer a file on your PC, try opening it with our product. Set the file extension to *.* at the file menu open dialog box.
If the files can not be opened, we have provided a tool producing extracts of 5 MB that you can send us by email. The tool can be downloaded here (file size: 88 KB).

We have already tested the receivers listed beneath and they are not supported by our products for sure.
